On the occasion of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce’s (IACC) annual Gala, IACC President Alberto Milani emphasized the IACC’s central role in the Sistema Italia promotional framework which supports Italian enterprises in the United States. “We are witnessing a very important moment for our country here in the United States; Italian exports made noteworthy progress in 2018, and projections for 2019 are also forecasting significant growth,” Milani told ANSA, adding that “2019 will be extremely important for the IACC as we carry out our role as coordinator of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in the NAFTA area, cognizant of the strategic role that our Chamber currently plays in the growth of Italy’s revenues here in the United States.”

Milani also shared that one area of specific focus for the IACC in 2019 will be on supporting young entrepreneurs with an incubator-like support system for start-ups and small businesses. “Sistema Italia functions extremely well here in New York,” added Milani, “and we have worked successfully in partnership with the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Trade Commission over the course of the last several years to bring clarity and efficacy to promotional initiatives in the U.S.” Maurizio Forte, Director of the Italian Trade Commission in New York, and Italian Consul General Francesco Genuardi were also in attendance at the IACC’s Gala. “The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce is an important component of Sistema Italia in the Big Apple, providing invaluable support to the numerous Italian companies operating in New York City as well as in the tri-state area,” said Genuardi. “The presence of many young professionals among its members,” he added, “points to a strong drive for modernization and the desire to cultivate strong relationships in the field of innovation as well.” (ANSA)
