GLAM Program Masterclass
On May 2nd, the Global Luxury and Management Masterclass of the Poole College of Management, part of North Carolina State University. During the event, the GLAM program was showcased to the participants followed by a Q&A session.
The event featured marketing expert and NC State University alumna, Cara Fratto with an introduction by Alberto Milani, President, Italy America Chamber of Commerce and Senior Luxury Advisor for Richline Group/Berkshire Hathaway.

Alberto Milani leads the Luxury Division of Richline Group a Berkshire Hathaway Company. He is the President of the Italy America Chamber of Commerce in New York and coordinator of the all Chambers of Commerce in the NAFTA area.
His visionary approach has been recognized by world-wide publications and market leaders with the jewelry & life- style luxury brand Alberto Milani " a love affair with Italy".
Before joining Richline Group a Berkshire Hathaway Company he held executive positions with Procter & Gamble, Sector Sport Watches, Bulgari and Buccellati recently sold to the Chinese conglomerate Gangtai Group.
Alberto is a world-wide frequent speaker at industry, branding and educational venues. His definition of mission and corporate positioning by taking an innovative approach to all facets of the marketing mix are a true bench mark for the next generation of managers.
Cara Fratto is an independent marketing consultant specializing in luxury brands and also serves as Chief Strategy Officer for KRW Consulting, a New York City based consulting firm founded by industry powerhouse Kathleen Ruiz, formerly SVP of Partnerships and Media for Hudson’s Bay Company. She has over 15 years of experience across multiple marketing disciplines including strategy, branding, selling, events, public relations, and communications in the luxury sector.
Prior to starting her own consulting business, Cara worked for luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue for 8 years in both store and corporate roles. She served as Marketing Director for Raleigh and Boston locations, developing marketing strategies and executing large scale fashion and top customer events. In 2014, Cara moved to New York and began working at Saks Fifth Avenue’s corporate offices as Director of Event Marketing before transitioning to a strategic role focused on integrated marketing campaigns across Saks Fifth Avenue’s communication channels. She previously held a lead marketing role for 7 years at VIETRI, one of the largest U.S. importers of luxury Italian tableware and home decor.
Cara attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a bachelor of science in business administration from Kenan-Flagler Business School and she also received an MBA from North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management. She is a member of the NC State Global Luxury Management Industry Advisory Board and will be teaching a class on Luxury Marketing Strategy in the fall.
