Parma Alimentari and Municipality of Parma in NYC

This summer, join Parma Alimentare and the Municipality of Parma to celebrate the 2200th Anniversary of the Founding of the City of Parma. From the 25th to the 27th of June they will be hosting three events to promote the excellence of their cuisine, which has granted them the UNESCO title of  “Creative City of Gastronomy.” Their goal is to increase awareness of Made-in-Parma products; which continues the desire for the “BBF” (Beni, Belli e Ben Fatti or “Well done and good looking goods” in English) standard and reiterates the importance of authentic Italian goods. In addition to spreading the high-quality brand, Parma Alimentare also strives to use this project as a means to expand business opportunities for the “Food Valley” in United States. The believe in the purchasing power of the American consumer to further these culinary objectives, as they are the largest financial market outside of the EU and the third most invested in the market for food farming exports from Parma.

This plan was developed to target different, but equally important individuals, to diversify the presence of Parma Alimentare and establish connections within the business world. The first event, running for all three days, is a B2B food event called the Summer Fancy Food Show. The Specialty Food Association hosts over 25,000 professionals in the food and kitchen retail industry, which hail from more than 50 nations to buy and sell their finest products at the Javits Center. Representatives from Agugiaro & Figna, Azienda Agricola Coppini Arte Olearia, and Fratelli Galloni e Zarotti will be in attendance, exhibiting genuine specialties from Parma, such as prosciutto di Parma PDO and parmigiano reggiano PDO. A second element, more accessible to the public, is the “Taste of Parma in NYC” being held on June 26th and 27th. Diners at Barilla restaurants in Herald Square (108 W 32nd Street) and Radio City (1290 6th Avenue) will be provided a taste of food and wine from the Consortium of Protection and Azienda Agricola Coppini Arte Olearia when purchasing an entrée. The most exclusive of the three is a journey of senses, the Summer Foodie’s Cocktail Gala. 100 select businessmen, buyers and web influencers will have the chance to meet with representatives at a reception at La Piscine, on the rooftop of the Americano Hotel. Parma Alimentare’s proprietors, as well as Consorzio Tutela del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano, Barilla and Cantine Ceci will be serving their finest dishes while Italian opera classics are performed live by soprano singer Ariadne. The series will offer all a chance to taste premier and unforgettable delicacies of Parma this summer!
