October 2-7 marked the inaugural edition of “The Experience of Italy,” a week-long exploratory trip focused on innovation and collaboration in the high-end retail space. Organized by the IACC in partnership with IACC member Export USA, this first-of-its-kind event brought 9 U.S.-based C-level executives to Italy to meet with counterparts at some of Italy’s most renowned retail brands.
Participants had the opportunity to visit with and learn from top executives at Végé Group, Campari, Coop, Interstore, Imoon Village, Bulgari, Barilla, LVMH, Carpigiani and Coop Italia, among others. Session topics ranged from innovation in retail design, product development, the slow food movement and strategies for brand expansion and merchandising of Italian products.
