On Tuesday, January 22nd, 2018 Young Executives Committee of the Italy America Chamber of Commerce organized a seminar on “working with difficult people” in collaboration with the Dale Carnegie Training Center and led by Mrs. Fil Ionata.
The event was an outstanding learning opportunity, where over 60 people attended. The attendees were able to educate themselves with special techniques on dealing with difficult behaviours that people within the workplace could display for various reasons. As a matter of fact, uncomfortable reactions are often based on historical context from past experiences and situational context of what is happening in the moment. Thus, although confronting the person or situation can be exhausting and emotionally draining, avoiding it can be worse. Unresolved conflicts and miscommunications waste enormous amounts of time and energy, can destroy morale, and impact the bottom-line cost in lost productivity.
The program examined six primary disruptive behaviors, identified what people say and do that indicate a specific attitude, and gave direction on applying a human relations approach to resolve issues.
The seminar turned to be a great success, and Mrs. Ionata’s strong sales, marketing and management experience brought a great value to the YEX community and the attendees who were able to learn from her skills.

We are excited about the result of the first YEX Aperitivo of the year, which took place last Tuesday February 20th, at Scriptum Brooklyn.
Over a 100 people attended the event and were able to not only network and share information upon their work in the City, but also to taste the authentic Italian cuisine of the recently opened restaurant.
As a matter of fact, Scriptum Brooklyn is a new Italian restaurant located in Williamsburg that only opened in January 2018.
By deciding to be certified through Ospitalita' Italiana and commit to maintain using DOP and IGP products, the restaurant was able to gain visibility within the Italian Community in the first period of opening.
We strive to promote Italian restaurants who are part of the network of Ospitalita' Italiana by hospiting Yex Events and other IACC events at these locations.
Stay tuned and don't miss our next YEX aperitivo at another newly certified Italian restaurant. Check our website and Social Media for updates!
